At the Gatton Science Orientation Day you'll hear from academic staff and current students, meet your peers and future friends, and find out how to make a successful start to your studies.
Wednesday 19 February, 10:20am–2pm
For undergraduate students studying:
- Bachelor of Agribusiness
- Bachelor of Agricultural Science
- Bachelor of Veterinary Science
- Bachelor of Veterinary Technology
- Bachelor of Wildlife Science.
And students commencing postgraduate studies in:
- Agribusiness
- Agricultural Science
- Animal Science.
The day will include:
- information session run by current students to help you get started at UQ
- a welcome from your School and networking with academic staff from your program
- a free lunch (vegan, halal and gluten free options available)
- a showcase of support services.
Student immunisation requirements
If you're enrolled in a program or course working with animals or in agricultural environments, you need to be up to date with several vaccinations.
Depending on your program or course, you may need to provide evidence of vaccinations or immunity against:
- tetanus
- Q fever.
Depending on the work and environment within which you interact with animals, you may also require vaccination against:
- lyssavirus
- rabies
- influenza (flu).
