Getting started and Orientation

Welcome to the Faculty of Science

How to make a successful start to your studies:

  1. Work through Starting at UQ to get set up for the semester. Use the Science Study Planner to help you choose your courses.

  2. Join the Getting Started sessions (or watch the recordings) to find out about enrolling & timetabling, Library services and UQ systems. These sessions run during January and February, along with a range of other university information sessions.
    .
  3. Watch your program information video to hear from your program director about your degree structure and course choices. We recommend watching the video before Orientation Week (O-Week runs 17 to 21 February).

  4. During O-Week, go to your Science Orientation Day to hear from academic staff and current students (there are a range of other UQ Orientation events to explore too).

  5. Attend your School Welcome event in Week 1 to connect with your peers, senior students and staff in your discipline.
