Getting started and Orientation

Welcome to the Faculty of Science

How to prepare for Orientation Week (O-Week) 15–19 July:

  1. Work through Starting at UQ to get set up for the semester. Use the Science Study Planner to help you choose your courses.

  2. Attend the Getting Started sessions (or watch the recordings) to find out about planning your program, enrolling & timetabling, Library services, and UQ systems. These sessions run during June.

  3. Register for your Program Information session to meet your program director and ask questions about your degree structure and course choices. These sessions run before O-Week.

  4. Register for your Science Induction session during O-Week to hear from current students and academics, meet your peers and future friends, and find out how to make a successful start to your studies.

  5. Explore other UQ Orientation events and university information sessions, and register for your School Welcome event in Week 1.
