2017's Faculty of Science Award winners
Last year's Faculty of Science Award winners.

Applications for the annual Faculty of Science Awards are now open.

These prestigious awards – now in their second year – recognise staff and students within the Faculty who have demonstrated excellence, and future potential, in science learning, communication, research, teaching, service, mentoring, leadership or teamwork.

Last year there were over 100 nominations, made by Faculty of Science staff, with winners celebrated from across the Faculty for their contributions in and out of the classroom.

In 2018, a new category has been announced. The ‘UQ Values’ award recognises individuals who display the outstanding personal qualities of openness, respectfulness and integrity.

Winners will receive a trophy along with prizes, dependent on the nomination's category, and recognition from the Faculty and Executive Dean of Science Professor Melissa Brown.

Please note that only Faculty of Science staff members can make nominations and staff members cannot self-nominate. For more information about the awards and the nomination process, please visit the Awards' page on the staff intranet (note that a staff log-in will be required).

Any questions about the awards can be directed to Chantel Veldhoen, Secretary of the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Committee at c.veldhoen@uq.edu.au.
