The St Lucia Science Orientation Day coincides with UQ Market Day, where you can explore UQ Union's 200+ clubs and societies.

Market Day commences at 10am.

Undergraduate students

12:45–4:30pm

Your Science Orientation Day includes:

  • a program-specific information session run by current students and academics to help you get started at UQ
  • group activities where you will meet others in your program
  • a showcase of student support services and opportunities
  • free snacks!

There are 2 different sessions for postgraduate students.

Session 1

8:30am–4:30pm

For postgraduate students commencing (Masters, Graduate Certificate/Diploma):

  • Bioinformatics
  • Biotechnology
  • Molecular Biology.

Your day will include:

  • welcome from your program directors
  • welcome from the Head of School of Chemistry and Molecular Biosciences (SCMB)
  • information about UQ's support services
  • SCMB health and safety induction
  • program planning session.

For postgraduate students commencing (Masters, Graduate Certificate/Diploma):
