Gatton Science Induction Day

At the Gatton Science Induction Day on Wednesday 14 February you'll hear from current students, meet your peers and future friends, and find out how to make a successful start to your studies.

  • information session run by current students to help you get started at UQ
  • meet and greet academics from your program
  • a BBQ lunch (vegan, halal and gluten free options available)
  • a showcase of student clubs & societies, and support services.

After your induction to UQ Science you will be separated into groups for your School Welcome, followed by the Science Expo and a free lunch.

At 1.30pm there is an additional session for international students.

Science International Welcome: 1:30–2:30pm

An additional compulsory session for our international students in Room 106 of the Management Studies Building (8117).

Come along to meet the Science International team who will answer your questions and connect you with other commencing international students.

If you're arriving at Brisbane International Airport between Monday 29 January and Sunday 18 February 2024, you can register for a free airport welcome and shuttle service.

Student immunisation requirements

If you're enrolled in a program or course working with animals or in agricultural environments, you need to be up to date with several vaccinations.

Depending on your program or course, you may need to provide evidence of vaccinations or immunity against:

  • tetanus
  • Q fever.

Depending on the work and environment within which you interact with animals, you may also require vaccination against:

  • lyssavirus
  • rabies
  • influenza (flu).
