Prizes

Maude Walker Prize 1

  • You can't apply for this prize - it is awarded on merit.
  • It was established in 1973 by a bequest of $3,000 from the estate of the late Miss Maude Walker.
  • You're eligible if you're a BSc and BAdvSc (Hons) student with the greatest proficiency in your first year of enrolment in courses which have a total value of at least #16.
  • The prize value is at least $250.

  • You can't apply for this prize - it is awarded on merit.
  • It was established in 1973 by a bequest of $3,000 from the estate of the late Miss Maude Walker.
  • You're eligible if you're a BSc and BAdvSc (Hons) student with the greatest proficiency while you're enrolled as a second-year student (in courses in which you haven't previously enrolled) and which have a total value of at least #16.
  • The prize value is at least $250.

R. & A. E. Veitch Prize

  • You can't apply for this prize - it is awarded on merit.
  • It was established in 1974 by a bequest of $2,000 from the late Robert Veitch as a memorial to his wife Alice Esmee Veitch and himself.
  • You're eligible if you're a Year 3 agricultural science undergraduate who has shown the greatest proficiency in their fifth- and sixth-semester courses, which you've pursued for the first time and completed in one academic year.
  • The prize value is $389.

Note: this prize alternates annually between the Faculty of Science and the School of the Environment, which awards the greatest proficiency in Year 2 entomology courses.
