Precision or personalised medicines tailor treatments and prevention strategies to individuals based on their unique genetic makeup, environment, and lifestyle.

And this new paradigm of individualised health care has come a long way since the human genome was first sequenced nearly 25 years ago.

At our next BrisScience, The University of Queensland’s Dr Lisette Pregelj will reflect on the progress of precision medicines over the past quarter century, including how they are developed from lab bench to patient, specific diseases they have been developed for and their corresponding genes and mutations, and accessibility for Australian patients.
