Myrthe Snoeks was a Dutch backpacker living and working at a cattle station in regional Queensland when she decided she was going to study engineering and arts at UQ.

Four years on, the now-Honours-student is Managing Director of UQ Space, a 100-strong organisation of students working to become the next generation of leaders in the Australian space industry. The team has now become the top-ranked student space organisation in Australia and New Zealand.

Join Myrthe at this month’s BrisScience, as she discusses the trials, tribulations and scientific breakthroughs that have rocketed UQ Space to new heights, and explores the future of Australia’s fledgling space industry.

 

Myrthe SnoeksMyrthe Snoeks is the co-founder and Managing Director of UQ Space Inc., Vice-President of Operations of the Australian Youth Aerospace Association, and youngest member of the Advisory Council of the Space Industry of Australia. She is a current student at UQ, a consultant at Deloitte and was recently named one of 2022’s Young Australian Space Leaders. Her primary focus is getting Australia’s future space workforce launch ready.
