Noisy miner

Could a native honeyeater really be among the most important threats to our woodland bird communities?

In this lecture, UQ's Professor Martine Maron explores the intriguing world of noisy miners and how their unusual social structure allows them to dominate vast areas of habitat, reshaping entire bird communities.

Through dramatically transforming our landscapes, humans have helped these small but pugnacious birds disrupt entire ecosystems – but there are things we can do to reduce their impacts and let the small birds back in.
