
Eight UQ science alumni have received high honours at this year's UQ Alumni Awards.
The UQ Alumni Awards recognise nine prestigious categories of accomplishment and celebrate alumni who have achieved outstanding success in their careers and in service to their communities.
Taking out the UQ Alumnus of the Year award this year was Professor George Mellick, (BSc (Hons) 1990, Doctor of Philosophy (Chemistry) 1996, Graduate Certificate in Education 2000), in recognition of his dedication to alleviating the suffering of people with neurodegenerative diseases.
