Join the St Lucia Orientation session on Friday 23 February or drop in to the Science Welcome Hubs at either Gatton and St Lucia during Week 1 (19–23 February).

St Lucia Late Arrivals Induction

If you missed the Science Induction Sessions during O-Week you can catch up by joining this Orientation session on Friday 23 February.

This session is run by current students and will cover all the information you need to know.

The session will be followed by a welcome BBQ at 2pm hosted by the UQ Science Student Society.


St Lucia Welcome Hub

The Science Welcome Hub is the go-to place for science students in Week 1.

Come visit the hub if you are looking for a refresher on key Orientation info, want to meet other students, or have questions about campus. Our Science Leaders will be in the Science Learning Centre from 12–2pm during Week 1 to help you get settled in.

Drop in to the Science Welcome Hub to:

  • Meet the Science Leaders! Ask questions and get insight from a student.
  • Get acquainted with the Science Learning Centre, a unique study space for science students.
  • Review the Orientation checklist to ensure you have all the information you need.
  • Join a campus tour. No booking required, just drop in.
  • Find out what student support services are available to you and who to ask for help.

Gatton Welcome Hub

Student immunisation requirements

If you're enrolled in a program or course working with animals or in agricultural environments, you need to be up to date with several vaccinations.

Depending on your program or course, you may need to provide evidence of vaccinations or immunity against:

  • tetanus
  • Q fever.

Depending on the work and environment within which you interact with animals, you may also require vaccination against:

  • lyssavirus
  • rabies
  • influenza (flu).
