Working with PhD students on a short-term industry placement, you co-design a project that matters to your organisation together with the student and their academic supervisor.
The student then works with you to develop innovative solutions to your business challenges.
Placements are at least 12 weeks in duration (a minimum of 60 working days) and can be full- or part-time, negotiated by you and the student.
Placements are open to both domestic and international students.
The fine print
Financial obligation
There is no financial contribution required from the host organisation. Students can apply for scholarship support to help cover costs during placement.
Internship agreement
The research and development (R&D) activities to be undertaken by the student with your organisation and the duration of the internship must be confirmed in writing within 18 months from the start of the PhD.
Intellectual Property (IP) arrangement
Typically the IP is retained by the internship provider.
