Black holes come in a range of sizes. From a few times more massive than our Sun to a billion times more massive than those found in the centre of galaxies.
Strangely, no black holes have been found in between these extremes... until now. The first has finally been uncovered, thanks to a groundbreaking study involving University of Queensland astrophysicists.
In this upcoming BrisScience, black hole hunter Associate Professor Holger Baumgardt will explore astronomers' 20-year-long search to find the elusive intermediate-mass black hole.
