Five of The University of Queensland’s 14 most highly cited researchers for 2017 are based in the Faculty of Science.
Executive Dean of Science Professor Melissa Brown congratulated Professor Philip Hugenholtz, Associate Professor Margaret Mayfield, Professor Peter Mumby, Professor Hugh Possingham and Professor Christine Beveridge on the honour.
“The 2017 Highly Cited Researcher list, recently published at http://www.highlycited.com, represents some the world’s most influential researchers and inclusion on this list is prestigious,” she said.
“Highly Cited Researchers have distinguished themselves by publishing a high number of papers that rank in the top one per cent most-cited in their respective fields over a recent 11-year period.
“Such consistent production of highly-cited papers indicates that their work has been repeatedly judged by their peers to be of notable significance and utility.”
