In 2019 I’m doing my Honours in Physics, investigating the biological applications of optical tweezers. Doing a physics degree has been one of the hardest things I’ve ever done, but also the most rewarding. A science education teaches you a different way to think and see the world which I now carry into everything else I do. Doing physics specifically makes you realise just how much you don’t understand about our insanely complex universe (and just how much MATHS there is to learn), but at the end of the day, needing a team of five friends and several hours to finally solve one problem really builds your resilience and appreciation for the work you do.

I’m passionate about people using their science degrees as an opportunity to learn about what they love, wherever that may take them - I’ll likely be moving on to a career in data analysis after I graduate! In my free time I like going to art galleries, eating lots of Japanese curry, and embroidering. Feel free to talk to say hi if you ever see me around!
