At the St Lucia Science Orientation Day you'll hear from academic staff and current students, meet your peers and future friends, and find out how to make a successful start to your studies.

10am–2pm
For students commencing:
- Bachelor of Advanced Science (Honours)
- Bachelor of Biotechnology
- Bachelor of Environmental Management (Honours)
- Bachelor of Mathematics
- Bachelor of Science (Single, Dual and Advanced Standing)
- Diploma in Science
and for postgraduate students commencing programs in:
- Environmental Management
- Financial Mathematics
- Food Science and Technology
- Geographic Information Science
- Magentic Resonance Technology
- Occupational Health and Safety Science/Occupational Hygiene
- Quantum Technology
- Science in Mathematics and Physics
- Science in Physics.
The day will include:
- information session run by current students and academics to help you get started at UQ
- group activities where you will meet others in your program
- a BBQ lunch (vegan, halal and gluten free options available)
- a showcase of student clubs & societies, and support services.
9am–4pm
For postgraduate students commencing programs in:
- Bioinformatics
- Biotechnology
- Molecular Biology.
The day will include:
- welcome from your program director
- welcome from the Head of School of Chemistry and Molecular Biosciences (SCMB)
- information about UQ's support services
- SCMB health and safety induction
- program planning session
- free lunch and Science Expo to explore.
Students in postgraduate Conservation Biology or Conservation Science programs will have an early Orientation on Wednesday 25 July. The School of the Environment will email you with details.
